Wake up, Edgelord! New Gunnar Overwatch Reapers just dropped.
Overwatch, you know you, it's everywhere. The multiplayer giant has been around for almost a decade now. And with it, it's original characters including broody dual shotgunner, Reaper. His ability to dive into the thick of things and then dance about firing his weapons all over the place has been the scorge of many a player since the first Overwatch was in beta (when Bastion could move in tank mode, god help us).
Gunnar's Tahoe is easily my favorite pair of blue blocker glasses ever.
I've been a fan of Gunnar's for a good while. Ever since my first LED television came with some incredibly high definition headaches. And thanks to the good folks at Gunnar I've been able to try on a LOT of them. I even ranked a few of their coolest collaboration glasses, if'n you're interested. But after years of wearing different Gunnars I think I've finally found my favorite with Gunnar's Tahoe Blue Light glasses.
Top 5 Gunnar Collabs I've worn
If you've ever been to my house, firstly, who are you/get out, and secondly, you've probably noticed the stupid pile of Gunnars in my living room. At the time of this writing, I have 14. Do I need them? Probably not. Do I like having ones that match different shirts I'm wearing for Zoom meetings and the like? You bet your ass I do.
Gundam Breaker 4: How to Unlock Lin and Lilin Incarnation Gunplas
Lin and Lilin are two of Gundam Breaker 4's most compelling characters. But with a little crafting, you can make amazing mech versions of both characters. By Eric Halliday | 2:01 PM EDT It is no surprise that I absolutely adore Gundam Breaker 4. Until its release my most played game was Gundam Breaker 3 so this was an easy predictions for all sayers of sooth in the world. But my god I love this game. And for once I love the story too.
Gundam Breaker 4 is the best playable love letter I've ever seen
To say I played a lot of Gundam Breaker 3 is an understatement so big it would dwarf a real life mobile suit. In fact, when 2024 rolls around and Playstation does its yearly wrap up I promise you it's just going to be GB3 stats. I love it. Take a bunch of Gundam kit parts, mash them together, hand it a weapon and smash your way through waves of enemies. It's perfect. I got both worried AND excited when I found out Gundam Breaker 4 was going to be a thing though.
Complete Gunpla roster for Gundam Breaker 4's base game
Gundam Breaker 4 has the most Gundam than any Gundam game has ever offered before you even look at the upcoming DLC. The amount of suits waiting to be beaten up and collected is frankly overwhelming, especially with some TRULY bizarre additions like playable SD Gundams and Robot May. Though...WHERE IS MY DATA-CHAN.

Gunnar's Overwatch blue-blockers initialize a defense matrix for your eyeballs

Gundam Breakers 4 collaborating with Pac-Man seems like Bandai stole from my dreams
Almost every night I play a little game on my PS5 called Gundam Breaker 3. I've been a Gundam fan for decades and the ability to make better and better kitbashes and fight them is fantastic and I love it. And as I type this I type this with my left upper arm wrapped in a tattoo that looks like Pac-Man maze. I literally wear my interest in Pac-Man on my sleeve.

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond recent reveal might hold a big hint to the story
At first glance the Metroid Prime 4 reveal didn't really give us a lot of information and, instead, showed her doing a lot of the things you're used to her doing like fighting space pirates and rolling around in conveniently sized tubes. But there's a very brief moment that might be hinting at more. By Eric Halliday | 6:50 PM EDT The Metroid Prime 4 reveal was big news at the end of today's (Jun 18th, 2024) Nintendo Direct.
Review: Gunnar's Groot glasses are galactically gorgeous
Gunnar has a history of making blue-blocker glasses based off famous properties and characters, but the newest Groot ones put the other ones to shame. By Eric Halliday | 12:32 PM EDT I've been working with Gunnar for a while now. When they first hit me up it was the perfect time. I had gotten my first LED screen and, mysteriously, started getting killer headaches every time I'd have a gaming session of over 30 minutes.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Review: A triumphant return on the Nintendo Switch
The greatest game in the Paper Mario series returns in this faithful remaster that not only cleans the game up but adds some incredibly convenient features. By Eric Halliday | 1:16 AM EDT The Paper Mario franchise has been around for almost 25 years at the time of this writing and is a incredibly well respected line of Mario games that has grown into its own universe. And while they've done some amazing games, the quality has dipped over time.

Fifine's AmpliGame AM6 microphone is an awesome mic for a surprisingly low price
Had some hands on time with Fifine's AmpliGame AM6 microphone and I came away very surprised. For the low price it's a surprisingly high quality piece of tech. By Eric Halliday | 1:00 PM EDT Recently I had the chance to try out Fifine's AmpliGame AM6. A little ways back I had tried out their AmpliGame AM8. It was a really solid mic with a gorgeous modern, yet professional, look and really surprising sound quality for less than the price of a new game. Now I had the chance to look at the AM6.
Doom teases a "Medieval Doom" forgetting they already did it 30 years ago
Doom: The Dark Ages is an upcoming game that takes the familiar gameplay of Doom and tosses it in a medieval fantasy setting. People are hyped but also seem to forget that ID already did it and nailed it in the past. By Eric Halliday | 11:59 AM EDT Recently it was revealed that ID and Bethesda have been working for a few years on a Doom prequel game that shows the origins of "Doomguy" in a medieval fantasy setting.
Scammy Trends I'm Absolutely Done Seeing in Mobile Ads
Mobile Ads seem to be getting worse and worse with zero regulation. Here's a couple of the weirdest trends we're seeing in game ads. Some almost make sense, they're wrong but they work. And some are just baffling. By Eric Halliday | 11:00 AM EDT To say mobile ads are problematic in 2024 is a major understatement. Especially as it seems like Apple and Android alike have made it so that ad makers can create any ad and somehow keep them safe from the laws against false advertisement.

Arcade Paradise VR is both fascinating and exhausting all at once
I've always loved Arcade Paradise. From the moment I first played it, I loved it. In fact, after a bit of playing I went over to Limited Run to make sure I could snag a physical copy of it.

How to evolve all the new weapons in Vampire Survivor: Operation Guns
So, if you've played Vampire Survivor's newest DLC titled "Operation Guns" you know that not only is it an incredible crossover with oft left-behind series Contra, but it's also absolutely insane. Even if you saw the title "Operation Guns" you are not ready for how shooty this is. Apparently neither was my Switch because there were so many things going on at once that the poor little guy practically started hemorrhaging.

Endless Ocean: Luminous review: Deep waters, shallow gameplay
Endless Ocean is a famous franchise that's been around since the Wii era. The newest one has just arrived and...it definitely exists. By Eric Halliday | 9:17 AM EDT Back in 2008, a neat little title came out for the Wii called "Endless Ocean", a "spiritual successor" to the Everblue games on Playstation 2. It was a gorgeous (for it's time) title with an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack by Hailey Westenra. In it you were a scuba diver observing and cataloguing sea life. It was my chill out game.

Remembering Marvel's excellent past video games
Marvel has a long history with video games going all the way back to Spider-Man for the Atari in 1982. After a good amount of trial and error Marvel started knocking out some absolute bangers in the 90s. Things would continue, more and more games would come out and we got to witness Marvel characters in a slew of different formats.

Gunnar introduces Fallout Vault 33 protective glasses too good for the wasteland
Gunnar is known for creating protective eye-wear from blue light and UV rays with famous themes, but these Vault 33-themed glasses rank three out of Three Dogs. By Eric Halliday | 8:00 AM EDT The Fallout TV show is a universal hit. We here in the real world have it much better than people in the wasteland, but just because you don't have to worry about nuclear fallout doesn't mean there aren't other forms of radiation you need to watch for.
Every song in the Fallout TV series
The Fallout video game series has always been known for its unique retro-futuristic aesthetic. The games are all set in a post-apocalyptic landscape that seems to be stuck culturally in the 1940s, with music, movies and iconography all harkening back to that era. The Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime Video continues this tradition, with tons of music from the 1950s, 40s, 30s and before.

X-Men '97's newest episode pretty much confirms the worst villain is near
Spoilers for episode 6 of X-Men '97 below. My wife, who never really got into the X-Men comics, watched Episode 6 of X-Men '97 with me when it finally dropped. There's a part in which, very early in the episode, we're thrown right into some space madness involving the Shiar, every Marvel fan's 81st favorite thing in space. While discussing politics and unfortunately phallic hats, Empress Lilandra Neramani informs us that she is to be wed.
X-Men '97's fourth episode could open the door to a long forgotten team of X-Men not seen in decades
Episode 4 of X-Men '97 was a weird one. Told in two chapters we had a story of Jubilee and Sunspot pulled into a video game, and a story of Storm getting...pulled into a relationship. And somewhere in all this lays the potential for something crazy.

X-Men '97 is the best example of the worst nostalgia trips
Every so often the comic book industry gets this excellent opportunity to present audiences with fresh new ideas for some fan favorite characters. Ways we can see them in a new light or in new storylines. It's a way that you could, essentially, rebirth the world in a new light to bring in new readers, viewers, and fans. And it always fails. Ultimate Marvel, Heroes Reborn, Flashpoint, New 52, Crisis on Infinite Earths, and so many many more.
X-Men '97's fifth episode "Remember It" is exactly what I was worried would happen with the show
Conan O’Brien Revealed The Worst Thing That A Talk Show Guest Can Say During An Interview Conan O’Brien is often on the lookout for a friend, but he recently took a break from that to have some hot sauce, which is good to do every once in a while. X-Men '97's fifth episode "Remember It" is exactly what I was worried would happen with the show
Before I get into what I'm so mad about, I'm going to quickly give the marketing team of X-Men '97 some props for how they displayed the episode on the Disney+ site. Starting the episode off with a series of interviews for TV and having the episode description be about how the team gets interviewed is such an amazing switch I almost wish every show would do that. Like, way to bury the lead. But now for the lead. And, obviously, spoilers for episode 5 of X-Men '97 "Remember It" are ahead.

Review: Princess Peach Showtime gives us the Princess we've always needed
Title: Princess Peach Showtime Release Date: March 22, 2024 Developer: Nintendo Publishers: Nintendo Platforms: Nintendo Switch (reviewed on) I went into Princess Peach Showtmie with sort of mixed expectations — especially as someone who has still been patiently waiting for Nintendo to stop overlooking Daisy. On one hand, I was worried by the look of the game, that it was going to just be an empty and overly cutesy little side game.

Lawn Mowing Simulator review: A Simulator In Need of a Trim
As a lover of all those weird simulation games like Power Wash Simulator, Mech Mechanic, Arcade Paradise, and more I was drawn into this particular game. But how much of this game is well manicured and how much of it needs to go directly into the compost? Let's get into it. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Top 5 Most Surprisingly Good NPCs
RPGs are awash with NPCs (non-player characters) to fill out the worlds. Some of them are random people you come across just wondering the streets, some are sitting in bars, and some of them are ones you regularly have to work with. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has no shortage of characters but some of them clearly outshine the others to a surprising degree. Here are my 5 favorites.
