Starsky & Hutch: Vintage Truck Camper Stakeout
A 1973 Ford F-250 and vintage Four Star truck camper quietly steal three scenes in the 2004 movie Starsky & Hutch. We paused, rewound, and went looking for the story behind Hutch’s “camper/apartment.” Pass the popcorn! I was watching the 2004 movie Starsky & Hutch when a faded yellow Ford pickup came onto the screen with a vintage camper.
2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek Updates
Northwood’s 2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek updates bring fresh graphics, contrasting interiors, Starlink-ready prewire, and roadside assistance if travel plans take an unexpected turn. Did we mention more solar? Consider it a sunny bonus. Northwood Manufacturing has made significant Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek updates over the past three model years.
Announcing the Scout x SITKA Edition Camper
Scout and SITKA transform ten Olympic hard side campers into a purpose-built basecamp for hunters and anglers. Lace up your boots; this one is about to get technical. When Scout launched the Olympic in 2020, it brought a distinctly modular approach to the truck camper marketplace. The composite shell and portable systems stripped the truck camper concept back to the essentials and invited owners to decide what they needed from there.
Introducing Goose Gear Storage Solutions
Goose Gear manufactures vehicle-specific storage systems designed to organize and maximize the camping cargo in your truck. From seat-delete systems and drawers to refrigerator slides and modular camper interiors, Goose Gear gives your camping essentials a place to roost. I’ll admit it. It doesn’t take long for the cab of my truck to look like the aftermath of a camping gear explosion.
Outpost Launches 8.0 Long Bed with Wet Bath
Outpost’s first long-bed truck camper is officially in production. The Outpost 8.0 brings a fully enclosed wet bath, north-south bed, and more off-grid capacity to its propane-free, all-composite panel formula. More camper, more capability, and yes, you can still shut the tailgate. When Outpost Campers dove into the truck camper marketplace in 2024, they made waves.
STAPLL Installation at STAPLL HQ
From the unboxing to the final bolt, we documented the installation of a STAPLL Fender Case Kit and a RotopaX grey water tank on a Ford F-250. Here’s an inside look at the reader-selected 2025 Truck Camper Magazine Innovation of the Year. Ready. Set. STAPLL. Colorado has been a natural incubator for outdoor and overland products since the very beginning of the truck camper industry.
Introducing LiquidSpring Smart Suspension
LiquidSpring manufactures hydraulic suspension systems designed to adapt to changing loads and road conditions. With a system that adjusts in just 40 milliseconds, LiquidSpring aims to redefine the way trucks ride—with or without a camper. Truck campers demand more from a pickup than perhaps any other RV. One weekend, your truck is hauling thousands of pounds over mountain passes and rough forest roads.
Iconic ‘73 Ford and American Road Revealed
E. Boudreault RV found and restored a ‘73 Ford F-350 Super Camper Special and a matching ‘73 American Road Truck Camper. What began as a casual conversation turned into a mission to recreate one of truck camping’s most iconic pairings. ‘73 is back. Can you dig it? Some things are special on their own, but become much more significant when they’re paired with something else. What is James Bond without his Aston Martin? What is Jimi Hendrix without a Fender Stratocaster?
Alaskan HS 640 Production Model Debuts
Since the HS 640 renderings were released this spring, anticipation has been building for Alaskan Campers’ first composite-panel hard side truck camper. From CAD to reality, the production HS 640 has officially arrived. The Alaskan HS era is here. For nearly seventy years, Alaskan’s hard-sided pop-up campers have been recognized for their low-profile design, four-season capability, and unmistakable aesthetic.
Outpost Campers Factory Tour
Truck Camper Magazine visits Outpost Campers in Bayfield, Colorado, to discover how their composite-panel truck campers are built. Who needs hundreds of screws when chemistry can do the heavy lifting? Stick around. In July of 2024, Outpost Campers launched in Truck Camper Magazine with a lightweight composite-panel truck camper.
How To Prep a Truck with Torklift
In this article, we walk through how to prepare a Ford F-350 for a truck camper using Torklift International tie-downs and suspension products. With the help of Torklift how-to videos and a couple family members, we handled the installations ourselves. Let’s wrench. Three months after placing our order, we took delivery of a brand new Ford F-350 XL. Just two weeks later, we were scheduled to pick up a demo truck camper.
Tune Outdoor Launches Interior Systems
Tune Outdoor’s new Interior Systems add modular storage, seating, and water without sacrificing the brand’s ultra-lightweight identity. The result? Less time organizing gear. More time following the road wherever it leads. The evolution of the truck camper market is often driven by a simple question: What do customers want next? Sometimes the answer is a new feature, a modified floor plan, or an entirely new product.
LATEST: The Moment Finder
After nearly ten years of roaming the country in his Arctic Fox 990, Matt Nelson doesn’t have to go looking for incredible moments. They find him. A rocket streaks across the twilight sky above a lone truck camper in the desert. A double rainbow suddenly appears over camp after a passing storm. In the quiet glow of sunrise, a hot air balloon drifts above red rock cliffs. These aren’t carefully staged photography shoots.
LATEST: Supertramp Battle: Paragon vs Flagship HT
Supertramp unveiled its new chassis-mounted Paragon at Overland Expo. How does it stack up against the hard-side slide-in Flagship HT? Time for a Supertramp chassis-mount vs slide-in showdown. When Supertramp revealed Paragon, their pickup-based chassis-mounted camper, we immediately asked Truck Camper Magazine readers a simple question: Is this still a truck camper? The results were fascinating. Nearly 70 percent of readers said a truck camper must be removable or demountable.
LATEST: Host Goes Big at Expo with EOG
There was no ignoring the Host Mammoth triple-slide and Ford F-550 Elevation Off Grid rig at Expo West. And that wasn’t our only big Host discovery. Don’t miss Randall’s counter-expanding demonstration. Randall Pozzi, Sales Manager for Host Campers, had just finished loading a 2026 Host Mammoth onto an Elevation Off Grid (EOG) Ford F-550 when I stopped by on the opening evening of Overland Expo West. The assembled triple-slide camper and EOG truck was destined to be a show stopper.
LATEST: Soaring Eagle Pushes Deeper Into Overland
With a prominent presence at Expo West, Soaring Eagle demonstrated how its hard side and pop-up camper lines appeal to both Overland and traditional RV buyers. Here’s how Soaring Eagle lands that coveted balance. Traditional RV truck campers prioritize self-containment, appliances, and domestic comfort in a highly mobile package. Overland truck campers strip everything back to prioritize low weight, simplicity and ultimate mobility.
LATEST: STAPLL Solves Exterior Storage at Expo West
Kingstar had the dog-loving crowds of Overland Expo West by the leash as they unveiled the K9 KRUZR 6. Heat, lighting, water, drainage—man’s best friend officially has better truck camping accommodations than a surprising number of humans. Woof! By now, we’ve come to expect Kingstar to roll into Overland Expo with ideas that feel less like updates and more like innovative solutions from the edge of truck camper design.
LATEST: RMRV Denali 3SC Composite Triple-Slide First Look
We had to see it in person to believe it—the composite panel Denali 3SC triple-slide flatbed truck camper is real. Was Rugged Mountain able to keep their tiny-home-inspired interior? Let’s take a peek. There are only a handful of moments each year when something genuinely new stops us in our tracks. Seeing the Rugged Mountain Denali 3SC for the first time was one of them. Triple-slide truck campers are already rare, but a triple-slide composite panel truck camper? That’s a first.

LATEST: Full-Time Fountain of Youth
After two decades, Bob and Angie Hallock came full circle back to a truck camper. With a Host Mammoth and Chevy 5500, they’re ready for their biggest adventure yet. Their mission? To stay young. The bigger the rig, the more limitations you face—where you can go, where you can camp, and how freely you can move. When you have to turn away from a beautiful destination or squeeze into the only campground that accommodates you, it becomes a reason to rethink everything.
LATEST: TCM Debuts 2026 Ford F-350
Truck Camper Magazine’s Eric and Sarah Hyde reveal their new truck: a 2026 Ford F-350 XL. Here’s why they chose Ford, how they configured their truck, and the thinking behind each decision. And the payload sticker says… Since 2014, Truck Camper Magazine has been a Ram household. Gordon and Angela have collectively driven more than 150,000 miles in two Ram 3500s while publishing across the country.
LATEST: The Long Ride: Rodeo, Music, and a Life on the Road

Travis Burke, Robert Riddle, and Chris Janeway share their Bowen Custom Beds and the real impact these all-aluminum builds have made on their truck camping lifestyles. Are custom beds worth the investment? Let’s find out. When we introduced Bowen Customs in the fall of 2025, readership interest was undeniable. We followed up a few months later with a Bowen Customs factory tour showcasing how these high-end storage beds are designed and manufactured.

LATEST: Alaskan Hard Side Composite Renderings Revealed
Alaskan Campers launches an all-new hard side composite panel truck camper. The Alaskan HS 640 isn’t just a new Alaskan. It’s a seismic shift for the brand. For nearly seven decades, Alaskan Campers has dominated a very specific corner of the truck camper market—hard-sided pop-up truck campers. Nothing else. It’s a design so iconic, so unchanged, that you can park a modern Alaskan next to a 1970s model and immediately see the lineage. That doesn’t happen by accident.
LATEST: Trading Wall Street for the Road
Chris Nagy walked away from high-stakes Wall Street deals and sixty-hour workweeks that afforded him “The American Dream.” Now, living full-time in an Eagle Cap 1165, his returns are measured in moments and miles, not dollar signs. From the outside, it looked like one of those wild Wall Street success stories we’ve all heard about. Through sixty-hour workweeks and eighteen hour days, a low-level assistant climbed the corporate ladder to become a major Wall Street player.
LATEST: Nebraska: The Bucket List
So you think Nebraska is just endless corn and flat interstate? Think again. Whether you’re crossing the country or seeking hidden gems, Nebraska deserves a spot on your bucket list. If you’re like me, you’ve experienced Nebraska one of two ways: from 35,000 feet or blasting down Interstate 80 on your way to somewhere else. The view from a plane reveals a checkerboard of farmland and crop circles. The view from I-80?
LATEST: TopKick Transformed: Field Truck to Horse Hauler
Ognen Duzlevski found a 1994 GMC TopKick rotting in a field and transformed it into an unrivaled Palomino horse-hauling truck camper rig. With the odometer stuck at 238,000 miles and a new owner with no prior mechanical experience, this pair doesn’t know how to quit. My first truck, a cherry-red 1996 Ford F-250 single cab, had roll-up windows, a simple bench seat, and no warning chime if you weren’t buckled after putting it in gear.
LATEST: 2026 Kingstar Updates
From his Hallmark Guanella, Adam Zolyak has tested every Starlink dish, data plan, and modification and shares his expertise at Overland Expos across the country. Here’s how Starlink has rewritten the rules of being online off-grid. Let the Starlink Masterclass begin. We all know that moment—one last turn onto a dirt road and there goes your final bar of cell service. For many truck campers, that’s exactly the point.

Critical Theory, Social Justice, and the Attempt to Disfigure the “Transfiguration”
A major problem between the social justice movement and Christianity can be found in early Critical Theory. Max Horkheimer (head of the Frankfort School in the 1930’s and pioneering figure of Critical Theory) found in German idealism an “inherently bourgeois philosophy,” containing elements that posed serious threats to the progress of social justice. For Horkheimer, idealism thrives on what he called “transfiguration” thinking.
