Eric Kleiner

Eric Kleiner is a philanthropist and community leader deeply engaged in charitable work and a strong advocate for children and families. He has guided Tenafly Youth Basketball, helping over 500 children build athletic skills and life lessons. Eric also co-chaired the Play Fore the Kids Golf Classic, which raised millions for children with special needs and autism. His philanthropic efforts further extend to supporting the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades and the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.

One of the most meaningful ways he has contributed is organizing charity golf tournaments. For six consecutive years, Eric was co-chair of the “Play Fore the Kids” Golf Classic, which raised over two million dollars to help children with special needs and autism. His role extended beyond planning; he helped unite people, creating a shared purpose centered around giving back. By combining his passion for golf with philanthropy, he helped make the event a place where community members could unite to support children and families.

In Tenafly, New Jersey, his dedication to youth sports is evident through his work with Tenafly Youth Basketball. As the organization’s president, he oversaw its expansion to include more than 500 young athletes. Under his leadership, the program emphasized both athletic development and personal growth. One of the key projects Kleiner led was the Challenger Program, which opened opportunities for children with special needs to participate in basketball. His support allowed these children to benefit from the camaraderie and confidence of playing a team sport.

His philanthropic outreach extends to many other causes. At the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, Eric helped fund and promote programs for families, children, and seniors. His support has helped ensure that the center remains accessible to people who rely on its services. He also worked with the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, contributing to programs that assist residents. His involvement in fundraising events for the Federation has helped strengthen the bonds within the community.

The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is another organization close to him. His participation in events such as charity poker tournaments has supported research efforts focused on treatment and finding a cure. His efforts have also reached the educational sector through support for the Windward School in White Plains, New York.
