Angela Smith, who has worn many hats for multiple companies throughout the years, was honored recently with the Administrative Professional of the Year award at a luncheon last week. “It was – it’s truly an honor,” Smith said. “It really is, and it kind of got emotional for me just because I have worked for the family for so long, and each of those people up there are like family. They’re not like bosses.” Smith has spent the last 42-plus years working for the Wilson family for multiple companies.

The Thomson High School baseball team can once again call themselves region champs, as they were able to defeat Burke County again to bring home the Class AA Region 4 championship. “I was lost for words,” Head Coach Billy Marchman said.

Last Wednesday, March 25, many made their way to the senior center to watch as they got to showcase their new sign, as well as the beautification that was done to their flowerbeds out front. Stephanie Walker, director at the Senior Center, said she’s been with the county for over 20 years, and she was comfortable with where she was at, but the moment the director position became available at the Senior Center, she prayed about it.
