Oh, sweet lover of mine, How I've cherished our time. You're headed for heaven. One day is all I ask— Just stay a moment with me, Right here in my arms.
How Bottled Emotions Impact Your Brain And Body
We don’t talk enough about how lonely people really are. In the U.S., about 35% of adults over 45 say they feel lonely, and that number climbs to 43% for those over 60 (NBCI 2020). These aren’t just numbers; they’re signals. Loneliness and emotional disconnection don’t just weigh on our mood; they affect our bodies, our sleep, and our resilience. And yet, many of us move through life trying to “hold it together,” swallowing emotions and pushing through stress, hoping it all settles down on its own.

The Simple Pleasure of an Open-Faced Sandwich - The Cook's Cook
I have been a food writer and editor for more than 30 years. As such, I have been blessed with the opportunity to dine at some of the finest restaurants in the world. And while I marvel at the time and talent it takes to prepare a meal at a Michelin 3-star restaurant, I must admit that my true culinary preferences lie elsewhere. Perhaps my taste for simply-prepared foods started when I took my first trip to Europe. I was 19 and my family had just moved to London.
Namaste Collection Day - The Cook's Cook
It was early, around 7 a.m., when we arrived in Lahachowk — a rural village northwest of Pokhara, Nepal. Several women were carefully bagging and weighing beans and other vegetables, but they stopped to greet us with broad grins, giving us small bouquets of just-picked posies and cream-colored ceremonial scarves, and placing red tika blessings on our foreheads. With each heartfelt greeting of “Namaste,” they made us feel like royalty. We soon discovered that it was collection day.
