Changes in the geomorphology, vegetation and land use in the historical eruptions of the 20th and 21st centuries on La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain)

español This paper analyses the changes in geomorphology, vegetation and land use after three volcanic eruptions (San Juan, 1949; Teneguía, 1971; and Tajogaite, 2021) on La Palma (Canary Islands). It uses aerial photographs, maps and bibliography to analyse new landforms (cones, spatter cones, hornitos, lavas) and evaluate the destruction of vegetation by pyroclastic falls and lava flows. The main method used was photointerpretation, assisted by bibliographical and fieldwork data.
