Salinity Intrusion Trends at Major Rivers in the South-Central Coast of Bangladesh

Abstract Salinity intrusions in river water in coastal Bangladesh significantly threatens the availability of freshwater, agriculture, and ecosystems, aggravated by climate change and upstream water diversions. The salinity level was assessed for three major river water systems both parallel (west to east) and perpendicular (south to north) to the shorelines in the south-central coastal zone of Bangladesh.
