There were high hopes for Edward Cabrera after he was acquired for top prospect Owen Caissie in early January, but the big righty was downright bad. A bad hamstring strain and persistent blister issues limited him to just 80 innings over 18 total appearances, and his stuff took a big step back even when he was healthy. Some of that was due to him concealing the blisters, which contributed to mechanical flaws and the inability to execute his breaking balls in particular.

Artist and Cubs fan J.J. Weinberg put himself on the map for Cubs fans when he gifted his father, Jerry, his original painting of the Cubs celebrating their 2016 World Series win. The clip was featured on NBC and ESPN, and you can see just how much this moment meant to both father and son. Jerry Weinberg passed away in August of 2024, but his legacy lives on in a painting that has become a family heirloom.
