The NW men’s baseball team had a difficult week as they lost three out of four games. The Raiders played a doubleheader against Mount Marty and another against Concordia on April 10 and 11 respectively. The first game against the Lancers started well as the Raiders gained a lead in the first two innings. However, Mount Marty pulled ahead in the third inning and maintained their momentum throughout the remainder of the game ultimately defeating NW 15-9.

“Project Hail Mary” is a 2026 sci-fi movie based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, an astronaut stranded alone in space who has amnesia and must figure out why he is there and complete his mission to save the earth. The movie is a success with critics, audiences and the box office, and this has rocketed it to the status of Amazon Studios’ highest grossing film. “Project Hail Mary” is a spectacular movie.

The NW women’s basketball team had a tense season. The team ended their regular season with a record of 16 wins and 12 losses. The team moved into the post-season looking to tap into the teamwork that let them win a majority of their games. The Raiders kicked off the post-season with the GPAC tournament. The first game was an away game against the Hastings Broncos. This was a tough matchup to start on for NW as they had fallen to the Broncos twice earlier in the season.
