The Detroit Tigers signed left-hander Framber Valdez to a three-year, $115 million contract in February 2026, giving him the largest average annual salary ever for a left-handed pitcher in free agency. His results haven't been good enough. The 32-year-old surrendered four runs across five innings in the Tigers' 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, June 10, in the second of three games in the series at Comerica Park. Valdez owns a 4.40 ERA in 14 starts.
