by | Sep 5, 2022 | Disney History, WDW Blog Oswald the Lucky Rabbit’s first appearance was on September 5, 1927. Here’s why we rarely see him today… Picture it: California, 1927. Walt Disney and his colleague, Ub Iwerks, proudly revealed an animated short featuring their original character “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” to executives at Universal Studios. The short was aptly titled Poor Papa and showed Oswald struggling through the first stages of rabbit fatherhood.
