Purpose: Existing research has explored physical activity promotion, knowledge of physical activity guidelines and the physical activity habits of UK physiotherapists and physiotherapy students. Other research has highlighted a lack of curriculum content in physical activity and exercise. Final-year UK physiotherapy students have been shown to perceive a professional role in promoting physical activity for health, yet have demonstrated variable knowledge of this subject area.
