Autonomous atmospheric water seeping MOF matrix
Abstract The atmosphere contains an abundance of fresh water, but this resource has yet to be harvested efficiently. To date, passive atmospheric water sorbents have required a desorption step that relies on steady solar irradiation. Since the availability and intensity of solar radiation vary, these limit on-demand desorption and hence the amount of harvestable water.
Arsenic enhances cell death and DNA damage induced by ultraviolet B exposure in mouse epidermal cells through the production of reactive oxygen species - Yin - - Clinical and Experimental Dermatology - Wiley Online Library
Background Ultraviolet (UV)B radiation has long been considered a carcinogen in both epidemiological surveys and experimental studies. However, recent work has suggested that different dosages of UVB exert different influences on cells. There are also co‐carcinogenesis factors such as arsenic that affect the role of UVB. Aim To explore the co‐carcinogenesis effect of UVB and arsenic on the mouse epidermal cell line JB6 and the mechanism underlying it.
Experimental Study on Tribological Properties of Graphite-MoS2 Coating on GCr15
The graphite-MoS coated on GCr15 bearing steel is prepared through air spraying and its tribological performances are investigated experimentally. Then its coefficient of friction (COF) and wear scar width (WSW) are investigated through the MFT-5000 multifunction tribometer and other test equipments. The experimental results show that the addition of the graphite can effectively decrease the COF and narrow the WSW of the MoS .
Effects of Compound Groove Texture on Noise of Journal Bearing
The noise of a journal bearing with the compound groove textures is studied based on computation fluid dynamic (CFD) theory and broadband noise source theory. In doing so, the acoustic power levels of the noise for the journal bearing with the compound groove textures and simple ones are separately solved at different geometry sizes and positions of the groove texture, and varied lubricant parameters using CFD method.
OPTIMAL TREATMENT STRATEGIES IN PREVENTION OF STROKE AND CORONARY HEART DISEASE AMONG TYPE 2 DIABETES PATIENTS USING MARKOV DECISION PROCESS
In Singapore, diabetes is one of most common chronic diseases with a prevalence rate of 13% and one of the top 6 causes of death in 2015. Without good management of blood pressure and cholesterol level for diabetic patients, the risk of developing stroke and coronary heart disease (CHD) could be very high.
