INTRODUCTION Placental insufficiency resulting in fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a significant contributor to perinatal morbidity and mortality, and there are long-term cardiovascular and metabolic consequences associated with being small-for-gestational age (SGA)1-7. Antenatally, FGR can be identified using fetal biometry and Doppler velocimetry, and a Delphi consensus-based diagnostic definition of FGR is available8.
