KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Darulaman Bhd's subsidiary, Aman Lagenda Sdn Bhd (ALSB), has entered into a joint venture and shareholders agreement (JVSA) with Seterra Holdings Sdn Bhd to develop a premier international hub for retirement, senior living and assisted living services. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Bina Darulaman said the JVSA is contingent on the fulfilment of several condition precedents (CPs) with both ALSB and Seterra committed to undertaking the necessary steps to meet them.

KUALA LUMPUR: Westports Holdings Bhd is anticipated to gain from a potential port tariff revision expected between September and October 2025, subject to government approval. The proposed adjustment aims to boost profitability, improve operational efficiency, and support future capacity expansion. According to HLIB Research, the tariff adjustment will affect the gateway segment, which is currently charged at RM300 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU).

KUALA LUMPUR: Rising tensions in the US-China trade dispute could prompt China to turn to palm oil as a substitute for soybean, potentially increasing demand for palm oil. However, Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research said this positive impact may be offset by uncertainties in global demand, driven by US-imposed tariffs and falling crude oil prices. "The US now charges a 145 per cent tariff on Chinese goods while China imposes a 125 per cent tariff on US goods.
