A coroner has warned that more deaths may occur due to mould and damp in a Hackney flat where a six month old baby died from complications arising from chicken pox. Assistant Coroner Melanie Sarah Lee asked the private housing company which owns the flat to act over damp and mould after the death of Abdullah Mohamed Ali in July in hospital after he was found unresponsive at home.

Fake speed camera installed by residents removed by council within days

A fake speed camera put up by residents on a busy street in Catford was removed by Lewisham council. Residents had complained about the number of collisions and shaking houses due to the speeds of cars and buses driving through narrow residential Sandhurst Road.

A charity run organised by the East London Mosque in Whitechapel and the London Muslim Centre is 'reviewing its policies' after banning women from participating. The Equality and Human Rights Commission opened an investigation into the charity run but said on Sunday that it was "not taking further action at this stage".
