Fan Creator Profiles

Last month was LGBTQ+ History Month, and to mark the occasion, we interviewed three LGBTQ+ community members about their experience in the fandom: Gianfranco Lentini Gianfranco Lentini is a New York-based LGBTQ+ journalist and playwright.

Anybody who pre-ordered These Bewitching Bonds knows the excitement felt when you received the email celebrating its release this weekend, and must have been just as excited as I was to see just how beautiful and how long this anthology is! An anthology by Black Girls Create in collaboration with literary zine experts Wizards in Space, These Bewitching Bonds set a broad theme of “magic and community” when asking for submissions from Black creators.

Our next community member to get involved in our fan profile features is Sarah (She/Her), a Slytherin who says she’s been a fan of Harry Potter for around 20 years! A fan fiction writer, Potter blogger and animal enthusiast (specifically rat enthusiast – she said her Patronus is a Borzoi according to Pottermore, but she’d “prefer to imagine it as a rat”), we loved getting to know more about Sarah’s story, and hope you do, too: 1.
