Two more arrested in murder of DA Councillor Nhlalayenza Ndlovu

Two more suspects have been arrested by the Political Killings Task Team in connection with murder of Nhlalayenza Ndlovu who was the DA Chief Whip in the Umngeni Muncipality. Ndlovu was gunned down at his home in Mpophomeni near Howick in KwaZulu-Natal in December 2023. This brings the number of arrested suspects to five. The other three are Thobani Hlongwa, Khayelihle Shabalala and Zwelithini Buthelezi, who is an induna at the Nxamalala Tribal Authority.

Police not ruling out more arrests in Magaqa murder case

KwaZulu-Natal police say they cannot rule out the possibility of more arrests in connection with the murder of former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) secretary-general, Sindiso Magaqa. Former Umzimkhulu municipal manager, Zweliphansi Skhosana was arrested in connection with Magaqa’s murder in 2017. Skhosana was arrested in Durban and appeared in the Umzimkhulu Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Former municipal manager appears in court in connection with Magaqa's murder

55-year-old Zweliphansi Skhosana, a former Municipal Manager of the Umzimkhulu Municipality appeared briefly in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal, in connection with the murder of former ANC Youth League Secretary-General, Sindiso Magaqa in 2017. Skhosana was arrested in Durban on Monday. He was previously arrested in 2018 alongside Umzimkhulu mayor, Mluleki Ndobe who has since died. Charges were later provisionally withdrawn.
