Abstract Harnessing light polarization provides a powerful degree of freedom for optical communications, imaging, and sensing. Two-dimensional (2D) anisotropic semiconductors have emerged as a promising platform for miniaturized on-chip polarimetry; however, their polarization responses remain constrained by intrinsic crystal symmetries and static device geometries, limiting functional tunability.

Epitaxial topological heterostructures of (Bi,Sb)2Te3/graphene/gallium have been achieved using molecular-beam epitaxy, providing the opportunity to access Majorana zero modes in electrical transport when combined with van der Waals tunnel junctions. In a superconducting system, the broken electronic gauge symmetry allows for the realization of Majorana fermions (identical to their antiparticles) by freezing the spin degrees of freedom in Cooper pairs.

Abstract The intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 (MBT) provides a platform for the creation of exotic quantum phenomena. Novel properties can be created by modification of the MnBi2Te4 framework, but the design of stable magnetic structures remains challenging. Here we report ferromagnet-intercalated MnBi2Te4 superlattices with tunable magnetic exchange interactions.
