Incremental prognostic value of the T-helper 1/T-helper 2 immune phenotype and 72-h change in sequential organ failure assessment for in-hospital mortality in sepsis with and without type 2 diabetes: a retrospective two-cohort study
Abstract Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is accompanied by chronic immunometabolic dysregulation and may alter the host response to sepsis. We compared immunometabolic profiles and early organ dysfunction trajectories in patients with sepsis with and without T2DM and evaluated 72-h mortality risk reassessment models.
In Planta Expression of Thermophilic GtGBE Mimics BEIIb and Modifies Rice Starch Structure Without Yield Penalties
1 Introduction Starch is a semi-crystalline granular polymer, composed of linear amylose and highly branched amylopectin, that serves as a vital energy reserve in plants and a crucial renewable material for diverse industries, including the food industry (Huang et al. 2021). Its functional properties are intrinsically defined by the fine structure of its two glucan components.

Building Guests’ Platform Trust in Peer-To-Peer Accommodation: Socio-Technical and Resource-Matching Perspectives
This study explores the antecedents of guests’ trust in peer-to-peer accommodation platforms by employing a melding perspective of socio-technical theory and resource-matching theory. The samples were collected from 306 respondents via an online survey in China. The results indicate that perceived social and cultural impacts, perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use, and perceived risk significantly influence guest trust.
Case Report: Treating depression and alexithymia in a 15-year-old girl: an emotion-focused therapy case study
Introduction Depression is a globally prevalent psychiatric disorder, with major symptoms including low mood, irritability, decreased concentration, loss of interest in previously preferred activities, and suicidal thoughts (1) Previous evidence shows that depression not only affects physical and mental health but also indirectly reduces research and work productivity, suggesting that depression has become an increasingly important public health issue (2).

ECSIT facilitates memory CD8+ T cell development by mediating fumarate synthesis during viral infection and tumorigenesis - Nature Cell Biology
Abstract Memory CD8+ T cells play a crucial role in infection and cancer and mount rapid responses to repeat antigen exposure. Although memory cell transcriptional programmes have been previously identified, the regulatory mechanisms that control the formation of CD8+ T cells have not been resolved. Here we report ECSIT as an essential mediator of memory CD8+ T cell differentiation.

Study investigating executive function in schizophrenia patients and their unaffected siblings
Loading metrics Open Access Peer-reviewed Research Article Abstract Introduction Schizophrenia (SCZ) is characterized by widespread cognitive impairments, such as executive functions. Most of the available research indicate that executive impairment has a certain genetic predisposition. Shared neuropathological characteristics of patients with SCZ and their siblings may reveal intermediate behavioral phenotypes that can be used to further characterize the illness.

Duplex-Specific Nuclease-Mediated Amplification Strategy for Mass Spectrometry Quantification of MiRNA-200c in Breast Cancer Stem Cells
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a significant role in numerous biological processes and are implicated in a range of cancers, including breast cancer. MiRNAs have the potential to be biomarkers in clinical practice because of their distorted and unique expression, especially with regard to their presence in cancer stem cells (CSCs) that have applications in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Thus, the absolute determination of miRNA expression levels is a prerequisite for exploring their applications.
