FRISCO — Junior Lucas Smith went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and senior Brett Hill pitched a complete game to lead the Lovejoy baseball team past Argyle 7-1 in Game 3 of the Class 5A Division II state semifinals at Riders Field on Saturday. LITTLE ELM — Hunter Handley’s two-out, three-run blast broke open a 2-2 tie in the top of the fourth inning, and the Frisco Panther Creek baseball team would add seven more unanswered runs to beat Aubrey 12-2 in the Class 4A Division II regional finals at Little Elm High School Saturday afternoon. The win places the Panthers (35-3) in the exclusive company of just three other teams as part of the 4A Division II state for the first time ever.
