Todd Corayer’s Biography

Todd Corayer is a life-long fisherman, hunter, and writer who lives not far from Rhode Island’s Saugatucket River with his lovely wife (who supports his fishing mainly to get him out of the house), teenage son (who regularly, often annoyingly, catches more fish than him), and dog, Arlo T. Dog.

Todd has been writing, speaking about, advocating for, and videoing about fishing and hunting in Rhode Island and the greater New England area for over 25 years. His work has covered how to fish the south side of Block Island, fly fishing for Atlantic salmon in up-state Maine, the best fall freshwater fishing in Rhode Island, how to not catch steelhead fish in upstate New York, smallmouth bass fishing on the Penobscot River, how much people from New Jersey drive him crazy, and everything else in between.

His work has appeared in The Double Gun Journal, On The Water Magazine, The Fisherman, The Bay Magazine, So Rhode Island, Sporting Classics, Coastal Angler, NY Lifestyles, The Island Crier, and very often in the wonderful RISAA Newsletter.

He writes a weekly column for the Southern RI Newspapers called – wait for it – Fish Wrap – which can be found throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut as well as a monthly column in On The Water magazine.
