The recent energy price cap increase implemented has prompted households across the UK to consider ways to make their home more efficient. One solution is to review the flooring in your home and consider whether some simple changes could improve the way your house retains heat, starting with your choice of underlay. Its hidden nature means underlay is often overlooked, but the right choice could unlock many benefits, especially when it comes to making your home more efficient.

LVT flooring (which stands for luxury vinyl tiles) offers high durability and is long-lasting, too, so perfect for the traffic-heavy areas of your home, like the kitchen. While it’s super practical, that doesn’t mean it has to be boring, as this combination of styles highlights. A smart and sophisticated stone-like LVT covers most of the floor, but to add interest and character, a colourful, Victorian-inspired patterned tile has been laid around the kitchen island, making a style statement.
