Swvl has positioned itself as an Uber for shared buses since its founding in 2017. The Cairo-based mass transit service app has announced a partnership with BRCK, a hardware and service company in Nairobi. Together, the companies will deliver Wi-Fi and online entertainment to on-demand buses in Kenya, as shared to TechCrunch this week.

The average person spends nearly a year of their lifetime looking for misplaced items. Hardware startup Tile, known for their smart location trackers, has struck a chord with users eager to conserve this precious time. The company announced last week that it has closed a Series C funding round for an undisclosed amount. Francisco Partners, a private equity firm with a focus on technology, led a minority growth investment that will be used to expand third-party product partnerships.

Fetch Robotics has made a name for itself for on-demand supply chain automation, particularly as the surging popularity of e-commerce creates a need for companies to keep up with consumer demand. This week the robotics firm announced that it has raised $46 million in Series C funding. Fort Ross Ventures led the round, while investors CEAS Investments, Redwood Technologies, TransLink Capital and Zebra Ventures participated.
