Ford McCracken’s Biography

Hi, my name is Ford McCracken. I am a production intern at ABC News' This Week with George Stephanopoulos. I'm a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a degree in media studies. In my time at UVA, I served as news editor of the student paper, The Cavalier Daily, covering the Jim Ryan resignation, Virginia's 2024 and 2025 elections and the Virginia General Assembly.

My primary focus is covering politics, and I write a weekly political newsletter on Substack called "What's McCracken? Politics." I also previously interned in the state politics bureau at KXAN/Nexstar Texas, the NBC station in Austin. Now living in DC, I love covering national politics, but I also loved covering Texas politics in Austin, where I grew up.
