Pre-eclampsia continues to represent a significant global public health challenge, substantially contributing to maternal mortality and adverse birth outcomes. Despite the implementation of various interventions aimed at reducing maternal mortality in Ghana, pre-eclampsia remains a critical issue with far-reaching implications for maternal health.

Sociodemographic characteristics of participants Table 1 presents the background characteristics of the study participants. In total, 246 pregnant women (85.4%) participated in the study. The findings show that the average age of the pregnant women was 32.2±4.8 years, with a majority (65.1%) falling between 25 and 34 years old. The majority of the participants were Christian (85.4%) and were married (79.7%). About half (50.4%) of the women belonged to the Akan ethnic group.
