Loughgall Country Park and Golf Course ball stop planning application approved

The 65m x 15m ball stop application relates to a site 45 metres south of No 35 Ballygasey Road, Loughgall. Prior to the matter being discussed at the latest ABC Planning & Regulatory Services committee meeting, Councillor Julie Flaherty (UUP) declared an interest. “I have dealt with a number of issues regarding this particular application and I also have a link to Loughgall Football Club with the chairman being a relative. So, I think it's just better that I exit,” Cllr Flaherty said.

ABC Environmental Services committee members have agreed to a partnership agreement with the group, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding. The matter was discussed at the latest Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon (ABC) Borough Council Environmental Services committee meeting. Head of climate, parks & sustainability, Claire Duddy, said many members will be aware of “the great work” carried out by the Friends of Shankill Graveyard.

Bus shelter request recommended for approval

A request for a bus shelter at St. Lurachs Road, Maghera, has been recommended for approval, Mid Ulster Environment committee members were told at their June 9 meeting. Meanwhile, a separate request for a bus shelter on the Ballyness Road, Clogher, has obtained the necessary approvals, but is still awaiting legal owner consent before the request can be sent to Property Services for installation.
