By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor On Monday, Aug. 3, lifelong resident Marie Ellis will be able to say that she’s lived in Pennsauken for 100 years. It’s quite an accomplishment, although Marie doesn’t have any secrets for a century of living. “I don’t know how to explain it. I don’t know why or how,” said Ellis. “I guess you go with the flow one day at a time. I always think God has a purpose. I’m supposed to stay here for a while.” Lifelong resident Marie Ellis turns 100 years old on Aug. 3.

By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor Pennsauken’s first responders are holding special events during National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 4, an annual community-building campaign that is designed to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. National Night Out fosters positive relationships between public safety officials and the communities they serve, while also encouraging crime prevention and community engagement.

The Pennsauken Historical Society invites all members of the community to the historic Griffith Morgan Homestead for a free open house on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Griffith Morgan Homestead will be open for guided tours throughout the afternoon, along with exhibits of the history of the more than 300-year-old community that grew into today’s Pennsauken Township.
