Thermoplastic composite materials have the potential to meet the high-performance demands of the automotive and aviation industries in terms of cost and cycle time due to their rapid consolidation and forming capabilities. To take advantage of the rapid forming capabilities of thermoplastic materials, the processes may include external heating of the semi-finished products, followed by the forming process, including the compaction and solidification in isothermal molding tools.

1 Introduction After more than 4 years of clinical application of real-time MRI (rtMRI) in pediatric thoracic imaging, we aim to provide a comprehensive review of our experiences through a video-based overview [1]. Real-time MRI represents a groundbreaking advancement in MR imaging. With frame rates reaching up to 50 images per second, motion artifacts caused by breathing or cardiac activity are markedly decreased.

Understanding the relation between the microstructure and the material’s effective behavior is an important aspect in inverse computational materials engineering. Especially in the context of localized, inelastic phenomena like plasticity and crack growth, the microstructure morphology plays a crucial role.
