Fred Kagonye’s Biography

I am a Multimedia Journalist covering stories on Crime and Investigations, Parliament, Politics, Entertainment and Culture for the Standard Media group.
I began my Journalism journey at St. Paul's University where I was a writer and sub-editor of the University's newspaper and magazine. While still in school I secured an internship at Pulse Magazine where I wrote entertainment stories focusing more on the gospel industry in Kenya. I was also part of the team that launched the now-defunct 'Pulser Magazine'.
After working as a freelance reporter in the entertainment desk for two years, in 2019 I joined the Standard Media Academy and went to the Aga Khan University for studies. Our training mainly focused on us shifting our mindsets and acquiring skills that enable us to work on all platforms comfortably.
