New hybodontiform material from the upper Cenomanian Galala Formation of Wadi Qena (central Eastern Desert, Egypt)

ABSTRACT A new record of a hybodontiform fin spine has been reported from the Cenomanian Galala Formation in Wadi Qena, located in the central Eastern Desert of Egypt. The studied Cenomanian – Turonian succession consists of the fossiliferous Galala Formation (approximately 90 m thick) at the base, overlain by the Umm Omeiyid Formation (approximately 40 m thick).
