Abstract Recent advances in molecular tools have changed how researchers approach selective neural modulation, especially in rodent models where germline modifications and viral vector delivery are readily optimized. However, these tools have not advanced as rapidly for nonhuman primates, despite critical need for translational gene therapy models. A key barrier is targeting specific neuronal populations in the larger primate brain with cell-type and circuit specificity.

Automatic personalized limbed robot design from media inputs

Abstract Designing limbed robots is a complex, multidisciplinary task that typically requires substantial effort from experienced engineers. In this paper, we present a novel automatic robot design framework based on Decomposition-Optimization-Assembling (DOA) to address this challenge. Our framework enables non-experts to create personalized limbed robot designs from media inputs, such as text and images, within minutes to a few hours.

Abstract Practical and robust control of the complex phases of qubit superposition states is necessary for high-fidelity quantum gates. Here we experimentally demonstrate such control in a trapped ultracold 40Ca+ ion, where the phase of qubit ground state is modified by optical driving to an excited state. Using a third spectator quantum level as reference, we experimentally measure the phases generated on the ground state amplitude by different driving schemes.
