Am a generalist journalist.

No topic or theme is alien to my pen.

As an outlier, I wrote articles and guide books about the Internet in the early 1990’s (Pocket Books and Prima); promoted awareness of Korean culture in three books; published a guide to Buddhism back when it was still shelved in New Age (+100,000 copies sold); and have now been treating mindfulness and new economics.

My style is colloquial, light, but with depth. I aim to be comprehensive and comprehensible.

Buddhism began in a very simple setting. Under a sheltering tree by the banks of the Niranjana River in northern India, Siddhartha Gautama, a prince turned wandering yogi, sat steadfast in meditation until he attained enlightenment. Then, after contemplating for many weeks whether and how to communicate his transformation, he began to share the teachings that would become known as Buddhism.

Hafez (حافظ) is a celebrated 14th century Persian lyric poet (1325–1390). He grew up in the city of Shiraz. Very little is known about his life, but it is thought that he may have memorized the Qur’an after hearing his father recite passages. He wrote numerous ghazals expressing love, spirituality, and protest and many of his poems are used as proverbs or sayings. Hafez’s tomb is in Musalla Gardens in Shiraz.
