If you're tired of waiting for your mail carrier to stroll up to your mailbox with your Social Security check in their hand, some relief is starting to take place. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed that it's almost ready on its switch to -electronic payments. The agency finally decided that it had it up to here with people complaining about never getting their checks (SSA checks go missing or get stolen 16 times more often than direct deposits do).

If you watch YouTube, you may have seen an ad or two about a "free bathroom remodel that Medicare will pay for." And then, when you search the web wanting to make sure, you see search results that seem to confirm this. So, you call a contractor who hints that that freebie is real. Except it's not—and by the time you crawl out of the sales funnel of promises, you find yourself covered in "Sorry, but you didn't read the fine print" notices.
