Guest Column: Delay tactics threaten projects
I was disappointed by the recent guest column from Watt Childress regarding Cannon Beach’s plan to repurpose its former elementary school into a center of cultural and environmental learning. The writer’s inflammatory words are part of the continuing effort by a faction within the community to undermine the city’s ability to accomplish our much overdue construction projects, including a new City Hall and police station. His column gets it wrong on many points.

8 Awesome South Coast Side Trips off Highway 101
The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway is one of the world’s most stunning scenic drives. When traveling Oregon’s South Coast you don’t even have to leave the highway to enjoy some pretty spectacular views. But venture off the highway you should, because a few not-to-be-missed places are just a detour away. These are some of my favorite short diversions off Highway 101 when traveling along the South Coast. Meander around the iconic rocks, such as Howling Dog, at Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint in Bandon.

The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same
The unexpected election of President Trump and his signals regarding future support for many social causes have sent waves of anxiety rippling through the nonprofit world. The proposed 2018 budget slashes funding for many public institutions that fund essential nonprofit work: USAID faces a 30 percent decrease, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development may need to trim 13 percent of its costs.
South Africa needs to revamp its new public transport system
Over the past eight years the South African government has spent more than 130 billion rand on public transport projects in the country’s main cities. The projects included the refurbishment of rail services and the establishment of a new rapid rail and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems. This is a lot of money by any standards.

Navigating the World of Multi-Platform & Transmedia Rituals
I have been trying to find a really simple metaphor for clients, students and other industry professionals to help them better understand the complex world of multi-platform. Also completing the last few chapters of my Networked Media Storytelling book I needed a big but simple metaphor. One of the biggest issues I have faced over the years is rooted in the question “I tell stories on one or two platforms why do I need to reach out onto other platforms and how?”.

Have about 22 draft posts sitting in my WordPress Post box, so a bit of catch-up in next week or two to clear some out!
