With the unveiling of a new look WWE title for the women, it seems the perfect time to look back at the titles of yesteryear that the women (or then Divas) would be fighting for week after week. One such title that was retired at the beginning of this era for the women, was the Divas Championship. Natalya On Possible Evolution 2 Under New Regime
In 2018, WWE made history for the company by hosting its first all-women’s PLE (then dubbed PPVs) that featured women spanning several eras of the division competing in matches. Under Triple H’s creative control, we have seen the return of numerous women’s wrestlers and gimmicks to strengthen an already impressive roster. Naturally, fans have questioned if a sequel to Evolution could be on the cards and in a recent interview with Darren Stone, WWE Superstar Natalya also weighed in: “Yes.

Maria Kanellis Still Considers Herself A Diva
In 2016, WWE took a major step in its Divas Revolution by dropping the moniker ‘Diva’ and rebranding its women as ‘Superstars’. Since then, all references to that name have mostly been dropped in an attempt to distance today’s WWE from the previous booking of the women’s division. One woman who came into WWE right in the midst of the Divas era is Maria Kanellis.

With NXT UK shutting down, several of the brands long term roster members would be released from their contracts while some appear to have been asked to relocate to the US to join NXT 2.0. Blair Davenport Earns Her Title Shot As NXT UK Closes Its Doors
When Blair Davenport appeared on NXT 2.0, she quickly made the same claims she has made on NXT UK: it is her birthright to be a champion. In recent weeks on the UK brand, we’ve seen several women make their claims to be next in line for a title shot. Davenport stood atop that list after taking out both Sarray and the champion, Meiko Satomura, before their planned title match several weeks ago.
Top Moments of NXT UK: Number One - State of the Union Address Brawl
On 17th September 2020, NXT UK returned with new episodes after a hiatus of over five months. During this time, the reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion days as champion continued to rack up and she dubbed herself The Forever Champion. Top Moments of NXT UK: Number Two - The Flight of the Valkyrie
In its 200+ episodes, NXT UK introduced us to an array of female talent, many of whom we could argue were ready for main roster runs. In a division as stacked as WWE tends to have, it’s inevitable that not every person will get their moment in the sun and win the top prize. NXT UK was home to many women who would have made incredible NXT UK Women’s champions and today’s Top Moment includes two of these women.

NXT UK Women’s Champion.
Top Moments of NXT UK: Number Four - The Final Takeover
2020 was a weird year, one that we all would like to forget and put behind us as nearly the entire world was forced into a holding state of sorts. WWE did its best to carry on with business as usual but NXT UK, governed by a different set of rules entirely, was forced to temporarily cease production in March of that year.
Top Moments of NXT UK: Number Five - A Champion is Crowned
This Sunday at Worlds Collide, we will see a Title Unification match featuring the two champions of NXT 2.0 and NXT UK, Mandy Rose and Meiko Satomura, in a triple threat that includes the wild card of Blair Davenport. In a statement released on her Twitter account, the former Kairi Sane confirmed that she had tested positive for COVID and forced to cancel her upcoming match against Wonder of Stardom Champion, Saya Kamitani. This would have been KAIRI’s first championship match since returning to STARDOM.
Amale Cancels The Nina Samuels Show One Last Time
Blair Davenport made a surprising appearance this past week at NXT 2.0 Heatwave and made a vow that she is going to be the next NXT Women’s Champion She has made the claim of becoming a champion ever since her return from injury on NXT UK. Another UK star making that claim was the French Hope, Amale, who this week faced off with the star of The Nina Samuels Show after their confrontation last week.
Scarlett on WWE Return: “It Was Perfect and Amazing”
In November 2021, Scarlett was among several WWE Superstars released as part of “budget cuts” alongside her then-fiance (now husband), Karrion Kross but the August 5th episode of Friday Night Smackdown saw the pair return to WWE. Last week ended with a brawl featuring Isla Dawn, Blair Davenport, Amale, and Eliza Alexander, four women with their own claims to be the next challenger for Meiko Satomura. The first sighting of the women this week shows the immediate aftermath of their brawl backstage as Sid Scala attempts to regain order and forces the women to be separated in different parts of the building.
Championship Chaos For NXT UK, Sarray vs Satomura Canceled
Tonight’s main event of NXT UK was the highly anticipated title contest between Sarray vs Meiko Satomura but things didn’t exactly go to plan. First, as promised last week, we saw Chase U attend NXT UK and got a montage of their trip so far. Hail stood her ground, only storming off when Alexander dared question the legitimacy of Chase U. As the main event draws close, the ring announcer starts her formal introductions but it is Blair Davenport who makes her way to the ring.
NXT UK Women’s Title Bout Set; Blair Crushes Amale’s Hope
This week’s episode of NXT UK saw the inevitable clash of Blair Davenport vs Amale that has been building for weeks. Between Davenport’s promise to crush all hope, which Amale took exception to, not to mention her lack of respect for the French Hope has left the two on a collision course. Amale issued the challenge last week and here we are. Before the match, however, we get a rare press conference segment featuring the two women competing for the NXT UK Women’s Championship next week.
