Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero – Matt Chapman, The Music Man | The Chillicothe Voice
Since the beginning, sounds or vibrations that have tickled the anvil, hammer, and stirrup to cause a pleasing or soothing stimulus to the human brain, slowly evolved into the wonderful world of music. It is the choice of the receiver to decide if the product is acceptable or less than desired. Today, as we know, band directors have always played a crucial role in the development and success of aspiring band student’s talents and futures.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Heroes – Carry the Light II | The Chillicothe Voice
Where are the new members who will keep Post 9 great? We raised flags at many sporting events, we marched in numerous parades of varied historical and military remembrances always holding Old Glory high, and we stood tall in reverence at visitations for those who moved on with honor. Have some gotten too old or do they just not care? Where are these new vets? Do they care or are they too busy to think about the future? All Vets can make a difference.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero – Dianne Gill Colwell: Back in the Day | The Chillicothe Voice
It’s been said that a town is only as good as the people who live there, but location, natural resources, a steady mixture of climate temperatures, rich black soil, and golden sand and gravel have contributed greatly in the early railway and river settlement of our home we call Chillicothe. Each generation since our beginnings has tried collectively and wisely to guide our commerce and society to success.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero – The Veterans Carry the Light | The Chillicothe Voice
As your heart melts, when a newborn smiles up at you and you think of the days in the coming years of good times and struggles, there is one thought that should be very comforting to us all, that we are very blessed to reside in the greatest nation on planet earth, the United States of America.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero: Andy Gusman – The time of your life. | The Chillicothe Voice
Time can be a specific or non-specific duration in a space between a beginning and an expected end. It can be abrupt or everlasting. All lives are afforded a ration of it to complete a particular cycle of events and happenings that are necessary to color the walls of existence. One thing is crucially true and that is time will wait for no one and motivates some of us to use it proficiently and not waste opportunities when they present themselves.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero — Scott Turner: No Risk, No Reward | The Chillicothe Voice
True friends are those who strike a particular and significant chord in our hearts that cannot and will not be ignored, a vibration that says, if ever you need I will stand with you, support you, forgive you, and if warranted defend you. We know that each gift of life, given to us, will follow a different path and each encounter along the way, affects the sum total of our last steps taken to identify who we have become and our destiny.

Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero: Sandy Tippett – Side by Side | The Chillicothe Voice
The elderly man was searching for an item in his basement for his wife when he found an old friend. The leather was cracked, and the strings were brittle but on the faded backside the word Rawlings was still visible. He pushed his wrinkled left hand inside and pressed the pocket to his face. Instantly his mind flooded back over five decades to a time when he was a hero on a large green carpet and his trusty glove rarely failed him.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero: 6 Unsung Heroes – Aqua Men | Teamwork | The Chillicothe Voice
In America, for the most part, citizen’s of all creeds, colors and ancestry, with a rational and spiritual conviction of justice and fairness to all, based on our Constitution and laws, should agree that each of us would pull together to power the engine of progress and normalcy. Some would call this collective exercise teamwork. Others would call the opposite a drag on society. Since the inception of our country we have successfully prevailed using this axiom.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero – The Messenger: Devoted • Essential | The Chillicothe Voice
Contrary to popular belief, love by itself does not make the world go round. Although love is a very vital and necessary staple to the happiness and well being of trillions of mother earth’s tenants, the transference of the written word from one’s thoughts to another’s eyes, heart, and intellect, through a highly technical network of automated delivery systems, is paramount. And the cherry on top is the personal human hand touch to each letter delivered to your mail box.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero: The Shield —Duty, Conviction, and Humility | The Chillicothe Voice
Can any of us say, in today’s society, what we are missing? What are the most pertinent and needed ingredients in our sometimes mundane or often pampered lifestyles that we humans are slowly losing each day? Could it be the lack of a moral compass or moral clarity? Not realizing that early teachings of good and evil, right from wrong, and compassion or hatred are fading. The best way for one to rise is to first help others up.
Analysis of a 5‐year, evidenced‐based, rational blood utilisation project in a South African regional hospital
1 INTRODUCTION Blood products are a lifesaving but costly and limited resource. Their careful management is critical to all healthcare systems and more so in resource-limited settings, where demand may often exceed supply.1 The last two decades have yielded significant insight into the timing and manner of blood product administration, with most guidelines advocating a restrictive transfusion strategy.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero – Jim Fennell and the Men of Steel: Caliber—Duty | The Chillicothe Voice
Webster’s defines: “Character” as the total quality of a person’s behavior. This quietly suggests, that the more qualities of good traits and good nature a person has, should present a more favorable personality and intellect. They walk among us and we know and recognize them, for their presence is too strong to ignore. Many are friends and neighbors and we are fortunate, in Chillicothe, to have a blend of some of the best.
Chillicothe’s Hometown Hero: Bill Dwyer Inspiration – Canoe Man | The Chillicothe Voice
There is no life as happy as that of a Voyageur. Why do we humans often yearn to dare, calculate, and risk, to do the seemingly undoable? Is it simply curiosity to see what’s behind the farthest star or around the bend in a river? Is curiosity the engine of life that moves us toward success? In order to discover, you must have the opportunity and that’s just what happened to Bill Dwyer and seven men on May 17, 1973—the opportunity of a lifetime for all of them.

Celebrating Bayway Cabin
A framed photograph of the 1992 ribbon-cutting at Bayway Cabin hangs in the home of former mayor Tom Jelepis. The cabin was torn down to make room for the new Bay Village Branch Library. While we celebrate the groundbreaking of a new addition of a library coming to Bay Village, we also celebrate the Bayway Cabin and the great impact it had on the youth of our community. Let’s strive to replicate this model since the children of Bay need it now more than ever. Great memories. – Gary S.

R enovation Contractor Monthly Newsletter | January 2019 Happy New Year! I hope you had a nice relaxing holiday with your family. But it's hard to believe another year has come and gone. This time of year, of course, is often a time for reflection. How did the last year go? What can we do to improve things next year? As mentioned in my Editor's Note in the December/January issue, there seem to be signs that 2019 could be a tough one for the economy.
Protect stamping dies with ion/plasma nitriding
It’s no secret that the demand for lighter yet safer vehicles has increased the demand for stronger steels in automotive bodies. Steels are significantly stronger than those that were used in older vehicle designs. New generations of advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) used in the auto industry create great challenges for stamping tools used in those applications.
Protect stamping dies with ion/plasma nitriding
New generations of advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) used in the auto industry create great challenges for stamping tools used in those applications because the stress required to induce sufficient plastic deformation in steel with tensile strengths as high as 1,800 MPa is as much as 400 megapascals. Chromium plating has been used successfully to protect stamping dies for many years. However, chromium plating’s limitations seem to be more pronounced as AHSS become harder.
