ABSTRACT HIV-related stigma affects the well-being and quality of life of people with HIV (PHIV). To evaluate the impact of HIV-related stigma on the quality of life among PHIV in Dar es Salaam, we conducted a qualitative study between December 2021 and June 2022. We enrolled participants in the Dar es Salaam Urban Cohort Study who were from the Ilala Municipality of Dar es Salaam.

4. Discussion The study was conducted one year after the dolutegravir-based regimen was made the first-line treatment of choice for adults with HIV in Tanzania [17,19]. Our study aimed to investigate the socio-demographic characteristics, status disclosure, self-discrimination, and stigmatization among people living with HIV in Tanzania. The study included 406 participants living with HIV, and the majority were female and between the ages of 25 and 44.
