What was your first job as a journalist?

Write an op-ed for the local newspaper when I was 12 years old.

It's dangerously changed our perception of what's real and what's not.

The guy from House of Cards that shot Frank Underwood.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Bring stories to light. Educate. Inform. Inspire.

Why did you become a journalist?

Started out as a content writer and then I earned some bylines. It all kinda evolved from there.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

We did not have a high school newspaper, but I did start one when I was in elementary school. I wrote everything myself.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Two actually: My Intrepid Travel article about my hometown ( Thessaloniki, Greece) and my feature on The Guardian about interrailing..

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

The truth is out there.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I'm on my laptop fairly frequently, so I guess anytime?

What's the best pitch you ever got?

One that was accompanied by a video of an amazing new product.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I was writing a story about travel gadgets and some guy pitched me about his house cleaning products.

What's your favorite drink?

Hendrick's gin with a slice of cucumber

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I go everywhere with a laptop (sad). The only times when I'm not is when I'm hiking or at the gym.

Ahrefs digital marketing blog, NY Times, Culture Trip, Atlas Obscura

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

I guess that travel writers are rich kids who roam the world with their parents' money. Also, not all cannabis writers are diehard stoners.
