Pret A Manger is set to test meal deals in the UK this autumn as part of a wider push to deliver better value and drive lunchtime trade. The sandwich and coffee chain said it will trial new meal deal formats in the final three months of 2025, offering options such as a croissant and drink or a sandwich, drink, and crisps. The move is part of Pret’s medium-term strategy to increase transactions, grow market share, and appeal to value-conscious customers, the Standard reported.

Morrisons is reducing the cost of hundreds of everyday essentials in a bid to help households make their money go further ahead of the busy autumn and Christmas period. The supermarket has cut prices on around 650 items, with an average saving of 18%, covering everything from chicken breast fillets, rice and pasta, to laundry pods, kitchen rolls, and cold-and-flu remedies. The reductions will run for four to eight weeks both in stores and online.
