1 Introduction Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease, characterized by a variable combination of motor signs including parkinsonism poorly responsive to Levodopa (MSA-P) or cerebellar ataxia (MSA-C), possible pyramidal signs, and autonomic failure [1]. The latter is a key feature in MSA that often begins before the first motor sign and progressively worsens to involve all spheres of the autonomic nervous system [2].

Abstract Objective: Thalamic strokes produce a range of neurological, cognitive, and behavioral symptoms depending on the thalamic nuclei involved. While thalamic strokes are traditionally associated with severe cognitive deficits, recent studies suggest more modest impairments. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the severity of cognitive impairment following thalamic stroke.

Abstract Deafness in cats may be due to acquired causes such as aging. Similar age-related morphological changes in the cochlea have been noted in several animal species. However, little is known about the effects of age on the morphology of the middle and inner ear in cats. The aim of the present study was to compare these structures in middle-aged and geriatric cats using computed tomography and histological morphometric analysis.
