Dear Editor, A big thank you to Yama Ramen for hosting the Killington Active Senior Supper Club on Sunday, Aug. 30. It was a new culinary experience for many as we all enjoyed several appetizers and a main course prepared just for us. A special thanks to Lulu and her staff who made us feel welcome and explained the food as each course was served. For many of us it was a first, but it certainly won’t be the last. Thank you sincerely for providing the seniors with such a great experience.

“Anyone who thinks falling leaves are dead has never watched them dancing in the wind.” -Shira Tamir September brings mixed feelings as the sunny, warm days of summer fade and are replaced by autumn air, chilly rains, and regular work or school days. Of course, as a former teacher, Labor Day, Sept. 7 this year, always means the start of school. It’s amazing that there is a day called National Act Dumb Day. We can celebrate that on Sept.

August is a special month. The very first day is International Mahjong Day plus National Mountain Climbing Day. Killington has an active Mahjong group and we certainly have a mountain. Even more noteworthy is National Senior Citizen Day. That is Aug. 21, and Killington even has a very nice group of senior citizens called the Killington Active Seniors. I also appreciate the week of Aug.10-16, known as Afternoon Tea Week. Let’s also appreciate the entire month of August as Happiness Happens Month.
