Abstract Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has created new possibilities for teaching and learning, yet its pedagogical role in physical education and health (PEH) remains underdeveloped. Current AI-related research in PEH has largely focused on performance-oriented and technical applications, such as motion analysis, skill evaluation, and training monitoring, with less attention to curriculum design, interdisciplinary learning, and teacher-mediated pedagogical use.

Abstract This data descriptor presents a bilateral lower limb muscle synergy dataset from 17 unilateral anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction athletes (9 men, 8 women; training experience > 4 years; national level one or two athletes) at 6 months post-surgery during stable gait testing. A cross-sectional study design was adopted.
