Gil Roberts is a Bitcoin entrepreneur, derivatives trader, and Senior Partner at Washburn Bitcoin. He also founded the Roberts Consulting Network, where he advises on Bitcoin strategy and financial innovation. Washburn Bitcoin's current project, Riptide, is designed to bring Bitcoin into millions of households.
Before Bitcoin, Gil spent more than a decade in traditional finance, working across mortgage origination, commercial lending, debt recovery, and investment products. He later shifted into the nonprofit sector, helping immigrants, refugees, and underserved Americans build small businesses. That journey culminated in co-founding LHOME, a Community Development Financial Institution.
As a technology entrepreneur, Gil co-founded Brick Bridge Consulting, a workflow automation and software firm that supported nonprofits and government organizations before expanding into finance and real estate. Over his career, he has also founded multiple startups, coached winning hackathon teams, and earned recognition in venture pitch competitions.
Gil holds both an MBA in Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Louisville. He has appeared at Citrix's Converge Conference, Idea StateU, Louisville Dream Funders, and Venture Sharks. He is also a Knight of Columbus serving his local parish.
