Although cancer survival rates in the UK have doubled in the last 40 years, half of those diagnosed with cancer still die from their disease within 10 years [1, 2]. Adjuvant treatment after potentially curative cancer therapy improves survival rates, but relapse rates remain high in some tumour types, and for others, there are no proven adjuvant treatments.
