Abstract Pycnoporus sanguineus is a basidiomycete fungus widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions and recognized for its intense red–orange pigmentation and pronounced ligninolytic activity. The lipid composition of this fungus remains poorly explored, and atypical sphingolipids have not previously been reported in this genus.
