Born and raised in Los Angeles, Gil Macias has lived and breathed pop culture his entire life. His proximity to Tinseltown and the resulting up-close exposure to cartoons, superheroes, video games, and horror films sparked his creativity at an early age. Influenced by movies such as 'Alien,' 'Halloween' and 'A Nightmare on Elm Street,' Gil gravitated toward art, film and writing, getting his start in journalism in high school.
