What was your first job as a journalist?

I worked as an editor for a small college-centric magazine right after graduating from Penn State.

Yes.

Anthony Bourdain.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I loved sharing the story of how my great aunt met her husband 72 years ago on the New York City Transit by using American Sign Language.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Any time, as long as it's via email (never by phone).

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Outside, soaking up the sun.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

The New York Times.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That I vacation for a living!
