Discussion The findings of this project support air sampling as a viable option for pathogen surveillance in airports. The data suggest that i) air sampling can serve as a layered or alternative surveillance option, ii) targeted genomic sequencing from air samples provides the resolution needed to identify important variants, and iii) targeted enrichment sequencing enables multipathogen detection from air.
