Overdimensioning affects the assembly and machine levels, creating a domino effect. Greater machine efficiency requires highly customized components.

1. Introduction Machining ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) with abrasive tools involves conventional processes such as grinding, abrasive milling (trimming, facing, complex milling, helical milling, etc.), or non-conventional methods such as ultrasonic machining or abrasive waterjet. These materials are known for their extreme hardness, high brittleness, anisotropy, heterogeneity, and wear resistance, making machining a challenging task.
